Shana -- Deputy Petroleum Minister for Petrochemical Affairs Marzieyh Shahdaei says petrochemical exports account for 31% of Iran's non-oil exports and 35% of the country's revenues out of industrial products' export.
Speaking at a conference in Tehran on Monday, the official called for formation of cooperatives for selling the items produces by the several petrochemical holdings across the country to international markets.
"Formation of joint commercial enterprises for petrochemical holding companies is crucial for attraction of foreign investments in the sector," said the official.
The managing director of National Petrochemical Company (NPC) underlined the significance of the petrochemical sector for Iran's economy, adding abundance resources and high production and export potential are the key levers to development of the industry in the country.
