Financial Tribune- Tehran taxi fleet will be equipped with new hybrid taxis from January 20, said Maziar Hosseini, deputy mayor of Tehran, on Tuesday.

�Nearly 200 hybrid taxis will be added to the fleet increasing the number to 10, 000,� he said, ILNA reported.

The move will be implemented during the upcoming �Clean Air Week.� Hosseini said more public transport vehicles such as new electric buses for the busy central District 12 as well as electric motorbikes will also be unveiled by the Tehran Municipality, and 150 dilapidated minibuses will be replaced with new models. Five new bus routes will be inaugurated in the southwestern and western districts 18 and 22.
