Financial Tribune- Iran has the 11th place in the best designers list issued by the World Design Rankings.
The rankings are based on current aggregate scores and the number of A Design Awards of participants in different categories of the competition between 2010 and 2016, Honaronline reported.
World Design Rankings is sponsored by A Design Award and Competition, the worlds leading international design accolade, based in Italy.
The 11th rank for Iran among 88 countries on the list has been achieved by 25 Iranian artists who won at least one design award in a wide range of design competition categories. Irans position in the ranking improved two notches compared to the previous list.
During the six-year period, 25 Iranian artists have collected a total of 82 awards including 9 golden, 35 silver, 19 bronze and 919 iron awards.
Iran also has two artists in the top 100 best designers list: Seyed Mohammad Mortazavi who is ranked 20, and Seyed Ali Alavi, ranked 72.
Mortazavi has won 9 awards (4 golden, 4 silver and 1 bronze).
Biggest Jewelry Design Team
A jewelry designer, creative director, instructor and author, Mortazavi, 32, began work for the Tehran-based Rhyton Company in 2005, which is the biggest jewelry design team in the country. In 2007 he was appointed as its design director.
In addition to his A Design Awards, he has won several other local and international prizes, and judged many jewelry design awards in and outside Iran.
He also works as an instructor at Shahid Beheshti University and Gemology institute of Gohar-e-Ariyan in Tehran.
Alavi, the second best designer from Iran has 6 awards (1 golden, 2 silver, 1 bronze and 2 iron awards).
A Tehran-based architect, designer and photographer, Alavi, 39, holds a masters degree in Architecture from Tehran Azad University. He established his own studio in 2012.
The top 10 countries in the list are the US, Turkey, China, Hong Kong, Italy, Taiwan, Britain, Japan, Brazil and Germany.
