SNSC Secretary arrives in Damascus

IRNA - Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani arrived in Damascus, Syria on Sunday to negotiate with Syrian officials.

Shamkhani is scheduled to meet Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and head of the National Security Bureau of the Ba'ath Party Brigadier General Ali Mamlouk to negotiate on crucial regional issues, bilateral ties, Syria developments, and the latest conditions in fighting terrorism.

'I'm in Damascus for further coordination and cooperation among Iran, Syria and Russia,' Shamkhani told reporters upon his arrival to Damascus.

'Aleppo liberation is regarded as a turning point in disasters imposed on Syrian people and resistance and standing by Syrian people showed that terrorism and instability won't be capable of overcoming Syrian resistance.'

The economic capital of Syria was liberated on December 23 after four years of occupation by terrorists.

Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari accompanies SNSC secretary during the trip.

Ali Shamkhani had held talks with Mamlouk and Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem on December 31 in Tehran.
