Pres. Rouhani stresses closer ties with Ecuador, Morocco

MNA Iranian President Rouhani stressed Sat. that developing all-out relations with Latin American and North African countries such as Ecuador and Morocco is a key principle of Irans foreign policy.


President Hassan Rouhani received the credentials of Ecuadors newly-appointed ambassador to Tehran, Germn AlejandroOrtega Almeida, on Saturday, while highlighting the common views shared by the two countries on many instances of regional and international issues.

The interference of major powers and the unilateralism approach are among the main factors of instability in various parts of the world, President Rouhani added.

Rouhani maintained that the Islamic Republic sees no obstacles on the path of developing ties with Ecuador, adding today, the private sector and major Iranian companies are ready to offer technical-engineering services to Ecuador on road and power plant construction. We can also expand cooperation on various industrial and energy fields.

The Ecuadorian ambassador, for his part, highlighted the extensive commonalities between the two countries in various fields, and called for joint efforts for developing all-out relations between Tehran and Quito.



Also on Saturday, President Rouhani received the credentials of Moroccos newly-appointed ambassador to Tehran, Hassan Hami. Morocco has appointed the ambassador to Tehranafter almost seven years of estrangement due to disputes over some regional issues.

The President stressed the need for further consultations and participation of Iran and Morocco on settling various issues, particularly issues related to the North African region, expressing hope that with the help and cooperation of all regional countries, stability and security would flourish in Muslim countries.

The Moroccan ambassador, for his part, noted that the political will and stances of the Islamic Republic on settling regional issues, especially in North Africa, are very friendly and sincere.
