FM condemns publicizing secret comments against natl. interest

MNA Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi strongly criticized Foreign Policy and National Security Commission for publishing Foreign Minister Zarif's parts of comments on JCPOA.Ghasemi disparaged claims made by MP Javad Karimi Ghoddousi, from Mashhad constituency who stirred controversy when he claimed Foreign Minister Javad Zarif has admitted being doped by Americans during the nuclear talks.

"Any common sane concerned a bit about national interests and the disclosure of internal secrets to the foreigners, especially the US, must know that private remarks of foreign minister of a country expressed among the trusted members of parliament and representatives' of Iranian nation should remain in secret," Ghasemi said.

"Even when referring to the transcript provided by Mr. Karimi, It is clear that Mr.Zarif's use of the word "mistake" is related to some public positions on a specific issue and has nothing to do with the provisions of JCPOA, the strategy adopted in talks or the way the international agreement has been written," Ghasemi noted.

Publicizing the secret comments- that the Foreign Ministry is reasonably unable to confirm their veracity or providing further details about them- informs the US of the country's negotiating tactics and can undermine the Islamic Republic's future negotiating position, Ghasemi said, calling Karimi Ghoddousis report unethical, irresponsible and bearing negative results against Iran's national interests.
