IRNA - Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano discussed issues of mutual interest with Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi on Sunday morning.


Amano arrived in Iran on Sunday to discuss implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

Amano is scheduled to meet also with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Head of Iran's Strategic Council on Foreign Relations Kamal Kharrazi during his one-day official visit to Tehran.

It is expected that Amano discuss Iran and IAEA cooperation in technical and safeguard fields as well as implementation of the nuclear deal called Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

This is the second visit by head of IAEA after implementation of the nuclear deal. Amano paid a visit to Iran on January 17, 2016 a day after implementation of the JCPOA.
