SHANA- Iran and Belgium has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation on joint energy efficiency projects and climate change.
Iran's Masoumeh Ebtekar, the head of the Department of Environment, signed a memorandum of understanding with Belgium's Marie Christine Marghem, Minister of Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development in Belgium on Monday.
The document was signed with emphasis on sustainable and effective cooperation of the two countries with the aim of promoting mutual and successful cooperation with each other in environmental grounds.
Biodiversity, waste and material management, surveying and valuation of ecosystem services, monitoring, management and conservation of soil, water and air quality, climate change, renewable energies and energy efficiency, green and circulation economy and clean technologies, biodiversity including its maritime dimensions, management of the sea and coasts and marine protection strategies, resource efficiency and smart cities in line with the index of urban prosperity in the big cities are the key areas the areas the document is focused on.
