IRNA Indonesias President Joko Widodo will discuss issues pertaining to oil and gas cooperation with Iranian officials during his meetings in Tehran this week.
According to the visit schedule announced by the Indonesian government, the president will review ways of increasing cooperation with Iran in oil and gas industry sectors.
President Widodo will arrive in Tehran on Wednesday.
He is going to meet with the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, President Hassan Rouhani and Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani.
The president will also take part in a banquette by the Indonesian embassy which will be also attended by Indonesians living in Iran.
The visit aims at promoting bilateral cooperation in oil and gas areas and bolster ties in regional organizations, the Indonesian government announcement said.
According to the Indonesias Metro TV, the visit aims to increase cooperation between the two countries in oil and gas, oil management cooperation and Iran's investment in Indonesia refinery.
President Hassan Rouhani had a tour to Indonesia last year and negotiated with Indonesian officials to develop bilateral cooperation and an agreement was achieved to boost economic ties.
Metro TV emphasized that Iran and Indonesia are developing economic cooperation after the implementation of JCPOA.
