Petroleum minister confers with Slovenian economy minster

 

SHANA- Iranian Petroleum Minister Bijan Zangeneh and Visiting Slovenias Minister of Economic Development and Technology Zdravko Po?ivalek in a meeting on Wednesday explored ways of development of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, the Slovenias minister of economic development and technology declared his country's interest to use Iran as a hub for joint production of equipment and export of them to other regional states.

Iran and Slovenia signed three cooperation agreements on Tuesday in the presence of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Slovenian President Borut Pahor.

Slovenian president heading a 60-strong trade delegation, including Po?ivalek, arrived in Tehran on Nov 22.

The Slovenian president reopened his countrys embassy in Tehran after three years of closure during his two-day visit.

In March 2013, Slovenia closed its embassy in Tehran as part of general austerity policies and in response to the difficult financial and economic situation in the country, which called for substantial cost-cutting in Slovenia's diplomacy.

Slovenia's economy has an industrial structure and 75 percent of its domestic gross product is reliant on exports.
