Sputnik- Iranian students successfully designed and constructed a robot for working underwater.

Students from�Sharif University of�Technology in�Teheran won first prize at�a recent scientific festival �Sea � The Strategy of�Development� in�the remote controlled underwater vehicle category for�their development, Iranian news agency ISNA reported.

According to�the report, the new vehicle is a transport unmanned robot controlled remotely by�an operator.

The robot can be used for�underwater exploration and submarine inspection. It can reduce the risk of�occupational injuries by�replacing human divers at�deep-water works and other operations. The robot weighs only 3 kg and can be easily transported. Its integrated camera is designed for�underwater video shooting. Moreover, numerous sensors can be installed in�the vehicle.
