IRNA Armenia's Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan on Friday called for establishment of a task force for pursuing development of ties with Iran.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Yerevan Kazem Sajjadi.
Iran is not just a friend of Armenia but an important partner for it, the official added.
He said that political consultations between Iran and Armenia would continue at high levels.
There are good potentials for cooperation between Tehran and Yerevan, the premier added.
He said that the Armenian cabinet has ordered establishment of a task force to boost export of agricultural products to Iran and facilitate custom affairs between the two states.
During the meeting, the Iranian envoy called for promotion of cooperation between Iran and Armenian free trade zones, noting that Armenia can help Iran's access to the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
The two countries' custom officials on Friday singed a cooperation document for free transit of cars in the two countries' borders in a bid to facilitate tourism.
