Tehran, Moscow discuss boosting oil ties
MNA Iranian and Russian oil officials mulled over development of bilateral oil and gas cooperation at a joint meeting held in Moscow.


The session, which was held on the sidelines of the 4th Annual International Oil Conference, was attended by Iranian Deputy Oil Minister for International Affairs Amir Hossein Zamaninia as well as Pavel Zavalny, Chairman of the State Duma Committee of Energy of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

The two sides reviewed venues for further collaboration between Iran and Russia in oil industries especially exploration, recovery and production.

Irans Zamaninia underlined that a myriad of opportunities has emerged for Russian firms to participate in the Iranian market given the countys oil and gas development projects.

Further venues for reinvigoration of relations can be explored in view of the age-old history of ties between Iranian and Russian companies whoshare a lot in common, he underlined.

Also at the meeting, Pavel Zavalny said Russia possesses great willingness and requires facilities to boost oil and gas cooperation thanks to its excellent experience as well as good political ties between the two countries.

Zamaninia also met and talked with Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Kirill Molodtsov in addition to managers of Gazprom, Tatneft, Zarubezhneft and Rosgeologia.

The major topics touched upon during the meetings were developing oil resources, gas liquefaction (LNG), implementing different oil and gas projects, investment, technology exchange and oil swap.
