Zarif discusses mutual cooperation with Czech prime minister

IRNA Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif discussed mutual relations as well as cooperation with the European Union with the Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka here on Friday.


The two officials also reviewed ways of expanding bilateral cooperation in trade and economic areas including energy, banking, politics and tourism sectors.

They also exchanged views on ties with the European Union and regional issues like crisis in Syria as well as fighting terrorism and extremism.

Prior to his meeting with Sobotka, Zarif met with his counterpart and the Czech parliament speaker.

In 2015, Iran-Czech the economic relations between Iran and the Czech Republic almost doubled with the volume of trade exchanging amounting to 52 million dollars.

The figure even grew in the first half of 2016 to 27.1 million dollars, showing an increase of 24,236,000 dollars compared with the same period the previous year.
