TEHRAN (FNA)- Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Hossein Salami said the US has lost its power to fight in direct wars and resorted to using proxy warfare to attain its goals.

"The US has, to a large extent, lost its power for direct presence in field developments and has opted for proxy wars and has unfortunately turned a number of fooled so-called Muslims into its operational forces," General Salami said, addressing a forum of the Iranian military attaches in foreign states and the country's defense and police officials in Tehran on Sunday.

Noting that Iran has stood against the hegemonic powers, using its capacities in the Muslim world, and is defending the oppressed nations, he said that Iran's clout and power has distrupted the integrity of the US-led arrogant powers' front.

In relevant remarks in May, IRGC Commander Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari warned that certain reactionary regimes in the region have become a tool of the US to wage proxy wars to block Iran's growing influence in the region.

"The US has opted for a warmongering approach using evil and reactionary regimes in the region after the Islamic Revolution's continued success and the hegemonic system's failure in controlling the Islamic Revolution's influence," General Jafari said, addressing a ceremony in Tehran.

He said that the corrupt regional regime's greed for power has led them commit savage acts against the defenseless people in Yemen and Syria, attempt to disturb the political and security system in Iraq, supply the Takfiri groups with weapons and suppress the innocent Bahraini people.

General Jafari also blasted a number of the world Muslim bodies for turning into instruments of protecting the US and Israel's interests in the region.

Stressing that the Islamic Awakening and Resistance still continue, he said desperate political attempts in the region and issuance of statements by the so-called Islamic bodies that are favored by the US and Israel to damage the unity of the Islamic Ummah can never block the path of the Islamic Revolution and Awakening in the region.
