Iran a crisis-controller and Saudi a crisis-maker: Analyst

October 30, The Iran Project Iranian political analyst Hassan Hanizadeh says Iran is highly capable of controlling the regional crises, in return Saudi Arabia is extremely capable ofmaking crisis in the region.

Speaking to a reporter on Sunday about the importance of EU foreign policy Chief Federica Mogherinis trip to Tehran and Riyadh, Hassan Hanizadeh said the EU has been involved with two very important issues Yemen and Syria since the last six years.

Yemen and Syria crises have now become a concern for the EU, so Federica Mogherini was sent to Iran and Saudi Arabia to use Iran's potentials and solve the problem through political solutions, the Iranian analyst noted.

He stressed that Iran plays an important role in the Syrian conflict and can find a way to solve the crisis with the help of Russia, Iraq and Lebanon, while Saudi Arabia, being supported by the US and Israel, plays adestructive role in the region and is responsible for all regional crises in Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and Iraq.

Mogherini arrived in Tehran on Friday night to hold talks with senior Iranian officials about the ongoing crisis in Syria, and then left Tehran forRiyadh.

Mogherinis trip to Tehran comes after Irans foreign minister participated in a day-long trilateral meeting with his Russian and Syrian counterparts, Sergei Lavrov and Walid al-Muallem, in Moscow on Friday.
