TEHRAN, Oct 09 (Shana) -- Head of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mine, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Gholam-Hossein Shafeyee says Iran is the gateway to the region's market of 400 million people, saying Iran and Malaysia can cooperate in various energy sectors.
Addressing the commercial session of Iran and Malaysia held in the presence of the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in Kuala Lumpuron Saturday, Shafeyee said the current century is the century of Asia and therefore Iran is more focused on the East than the West.
"Malaysia is highly prioritized in Iran's strategic outlook for the East," he added.
He said Malaysia is deemed as an outstanding economic power in southeastern Asia, adding Iran also enjoys great economic potentialities which can herald a bright future for cooperation between the two Asian countries.
"Iran as the 18th biggest economy in the world can pave the way for realization of successful cooperation between the two countries in various economic fields, investment and joint production," Shafeyee added.
