Czech parliament’s vice speaker due in Iran next week

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The vice speaker of the Czech Republic’s parliament plans to pay an official visit to Iran next weekend to hold talks with Iranian officials on a range of issues, including ways to boost the two countries’ relations.

Heading a high-ranking parliamentary delegation, the Czech lawmaker is slated to make the trip to Tehran next Sunday, October 16, at the invitation of Massoud Pezeshkian, a vice-speaker of the Iranian parliament.

During their four-day visit, the Czech parliamentarians plan to meet with a number of senior Iranian officials, including Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, and discuss parliamentary ties between Tehran and Prague.

Back in 2015, Head of the Iran-Czech Parliamentary Friendship Group Vahid Ahmadi and a Czech envoy to Tehran Petr Stepanek discussed ways to boost the two countries’ parliamentary ties.

During the meeting in Tehran in January 2015, Ahmadi highlighted the two sides’ potentials and capabilities that have paved the way for the expansion of friendly relations between Iran and the Czech Republic in all fields.
