Iran, Vietnam discuss boosting bilateral ties

TEHRAN, Oct. 04 (MNA) Iran's Deputy FM Rahimpour met with his Vietnamese counterpart Vu Hong Nam and called for bolstering of relations between the two countries.


During the meeting which was held in Vietnam on Tuesday morning, the two sides voiced satisfaction towards development of cooperation and delegation exchanges in various areas.

The earlier visit to Tehran of Vietnamese President Tr??ng T?n Sang in March was deemed as a sign of interest and determination held by both parties towards acceleration of collaborations.

The two officials also expressed their eagerness to hold the ninth meeting ofIran-Vietnam Joint Economic Commission in Tehran in near future as a means of reinvigorating ties in various economic and investment arenas.

Numerous venues for cooperation were discussed at the meeting including oil and gas, banking relations, extra-territorial cultivation, communications and telecommunications, knowledge-based technologies, nanotechnology as well as cooperation in pharmaceutical and health sectors.

Visiting Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia-Pacific Affairs Ebrahim Rahimpour andhis Vietnamese counterpart Vu Hong Nam further emphasized the need to exchange documents and agreement in order to facilitate mutual cooperation while expressing the readiness of their respective ministriesto support economic activists of both states.
