Iranian oil firms easier to work with: NIOC CEO

TEHRAN, Oct 04 (Shana) -- Managing Director of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) Ali Kardor says working with Iranian oil firms is easier than their foreign rivals and this is why deals with them are signed in a shorter period of time.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a ceremony to ink a Heads of Agreements (HOA) between the NOC and the Iranian Persia Oil & Gas Industry Development Co. (POGIDC) on Tuesday, Kardor said the NIOC is seeking proposals by foreign companies keen on operating in Iran.

Asked about Total's investment in oil projects in Iran, he said the company has submitted its data but it is too soon to discern whether it will join any projects in Iran so far.

The senior Iranian energy official further said signing deals with domestic companies shall not be seen as a path-opener for the arrival of foreign companies in Iran.
He also said more deals are under way with domestic developers in the near future.
