TEHRAN (FNA)- The Iranian foreign ministry on Wednesday deplored the recent terrorist blasts in different regions of Iraq which have killed and injured over 100 people.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi extended his condolences to the Iraqi government and people over losing their beloved ones in the terrorist attacks, and said such massacre of innocent people in Iraq, Syria, Yemen and other parts of the world is the result of the international community's deadly silence and ignorance of the root causes and supports for terrorism and violence, whose aim is sowing discord among different groups.
Qassemi again reminded all regional and international actors of their global responsibility to fight against the ominous phenomenon of terrorism in real sense and seriously.
His remarks came after over 100 people were killed and wounded in different parts of Iraq in the past few days.
Eighteen people, including two children, were killed on Saturday when militants shot at a checkpoint North of Tikrit and then set off two bombs at the entrance to the Iraqi city in attacks later claimed by ISIL.
It was the first such assault since Tikrit, 150 km (95 miles) north of Baghdad, was retaken from the ultra-hardline extremist group in April 2015.
