Iran Navy cmdr. visits S Africa’s military expo

TEHRAN, Sep. 17 (MNA) – Iran’s Navy Commander Rear-Admiral Habibollah Sayyari heading a high-ranking military delegation paid a visit to South Africa’s aerospace and defense exhibition.


The visit of the Iranian military delegation came at the invitation of South African Navy Commander with an aim to participate in a military equipment exhibition in the country, entitled Africa Aerospace and Defense (AAD2016). The event as one of the world's premier Aerospace and Defense exhibitions is currently underway at AFB Waterkloof, Centurion in the City of Tshwane, South Africa between September 14 and 18.

The first three days of the AAD are traditionally trade days, followed by two airshow days that are open to the public.

In addition to visiting the exhibition and holding talks with his South African counterpart and other military commanders of the host country, Rear Admiral Sayyari met with senior military officials of Brazil and Vietnam. During the meetings, the two sides exchanged views on the most significant developments in the region and across the world, and conferred on ways to expand military cooperation between the two countries.
