P5+1 foreign ministers meeting on Iran deal expected on September 22

The foreign ministers of the P5+1 group of countries will discuss the Iran agreement on September 22, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly gathering in New York.

UNITED NATIONS (Sputnik) The foreign ministers ofthe P5+1 group ofcountries will discuss the Iran agreement onSeptember 22, onthe sidelines ofthe UN General Assembly gathering inNew York, a UN source told RIA Novosti.

"A meeting ofthe E3+3 [also known asP5+1] group will take place onSeptember 22 onthe ministerial level," the source said.

Last month, media reports indicated that the next Iran and P5+1 session would take place inSeptember onthe sidelines ofthe UN General Assembly withthe purpose ofgoing oversome differences inopinion withregard tothe implementation ofthe Iran deal.

On July 14, 2015, Iran the P5+1 group ofcountries, consisting ofthe United States, Russia, China, France and the United Kingdom plus Germany, reached the Joint Comprehensive Plan ofAction (JCPOA) agreement toensure the peaceful nature ofIrans nuclear program inreturn forsanctions relief. In mid-January, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) verified Tehrans compliance withthe agreement.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said inAugust that Iran was planning todiscuss US violations ofthe deal atthe next meeting ofthe commission onthe implementation ofthe agreement.
