Irans heavyweight powerlifting champion has smashed three world records andwonthe gold medal at the Rio Paralympics.
In his first attempt in the +107kgcategory, Siamand Rahman lifted 270 kilograms and broke the Paralympicsrecordat Rios Riocentro Pavilion 2 on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old Iranian then benchedweightsof 300 and 305 kilograms tosmashhis own world record of 296 kilograms again,and hand Iran their sixth gold medal of the ParalympicsGames.

Rahman, who was representing Iran for the second time at the Paralympics,then requested for the weights to be set at staggering 310 kilograms outside the three scoring competition lifts, and triumphantly repeated his astonishing success for a fourth time.
