Iran's Paralympics weightlifting athlete wins gold medal in Rio

Rio, Sept 13, IRNA Iranian athlete of Paralympics weightlifting team Majid Farzin in 80-kilogram weight category won gold medal on Monday.


Farzin also managed to break the world and Paralympics records three times in Rio 2016 competitions on Monday.

The Iranian squad left Iran last Thursday to take part in the Rio 2016 Paralympics Games.

Iran's squad in Rio Paralympics Games consists of 111 athletes comprising 23 women and 88 men.

The 2016 Summer Paralympics the fifteenth Summer Paralympics Games are major international multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities governed by the International Paralympics Committee, being held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 7 September to 18 September 2016.

Over 4,500 athletes from 175 countries are attending the international event.
