TEHRAN (Tasnim) � A senior Iranian lawmaker announced that several members of the parliament�s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission will pay a visit to the country�s nuclear facilities in the central provinces of Markazi and Isfahan.

Speaking to the Tasnim News Agency, Hojatoleslam Mojtaba Zonnoor, the head of the Nuclear Committee of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, said the MPs will visit the Arak heavy water reactor and Isfahan's UCF (Uranium Conversion Facility).

He emphasized that the lawmakers� trip to the nuclear sites in Arak will be made in the next two weeks.

The trip to the nuclear sites is part of efforts by the parliament to prepare a six-month report on the process of implementing the July 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and world powers, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Earlier last month, Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi had said the commission was drafting the report and would finalize it in coming weeks.

Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on July 14, 2015, reached a conclusion over the text of the JCPOA, which took effect on January 16, terminating all nuclear-related sanctions against the Islamic Republic.

According to a law that requires the Iranian administration to safeguard the nation�s achievements and nuclear rights, the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission has been tasked with monitoring �the proper implementation� of the JCPOA, and is required to submit a report on the issue to the presiding board of the parliament every six months.

Months after coming into force of the JCPOA, some Iranian officials still complain about the other side�s failure to fully implement the accord.
