BAKU, August 8. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Baku where he will hold meetings with Presidents of Azerbaijan and Iran Ilham Aliyev and Hassan Rouhani later today.
Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov told reporters that Putin will fist hold separate bilateral meetings with Aliyev and Rouhani. After that, the three presidents will hold three-party talks. The meeting in such format is held for the first time, it was proposed by the Azerbaijani leader.
Ushakov said the three presidents have a lot of topics for discussion.
"The three countries are neighbors, they face similar problems, including global economic crisis, the situation near our borders - in particular near Afghanistan and in the Middle East in general, issue of fighting against terrorism," he said.
After the meeting, the presidents will adopt a declaration that will outline major spheres of further cooperation between the countries.
After the summit, the Foreign Ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan and Iran Sergey Lavrov, Elmar Mammadyarov and Javad Zarif will hold a joint press conference.
