Iran's squad parades in 2016 Rio Olympic Games

Rio de Janeiro, Aug 6, IRNA Members of Iran's dispatched squad to Rio Olympic Games paraded in front of the Games guests at the opening ceremony on Saturday while Iranian Olympics and Paralympics gold winner sportswoman Zahra Nemati was Iran's flag bearer.


The opening ceremony of 31st round of Olympic Games started on Saturday in Maracan Stadium in Brazil.

Iran's squad consists of 64 athletes in 14 fields namely boxing, ping pong, shooting, archery, sailing, lifting, track and field, taekwondo, judo, fencing, volleyball, wrestling, swimming and cycling.

The Rio 2016 Olympic Games is underway with 10,500 athletes from 205 countries who are to compete in 44 articles of 28 sports fields.
