Iran, Cyprus to deepen economic ties

TEHRAN, Jul. 30 (MNA) Chairman of Cypruss OEB, during a meeting with Irans deputy labor minister called for enhanced economic and trade relations between the two countries.


Chairman of Cyprus Employers & Industrialists Federation (OEB) Christos Michaelides met and talked with Irans Deputy Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare Mohammad Taghi Hosseini in Tehran.

Cypruss Michaelides pointed to a previous investment conference saying following the summit, bilateral ties have been boosted and economic activists of Cyprus have launched good cooperation with their Iranian counterparts.

Cyprus has established an office in Tehran in order to follow up and promote relations between investors and businessmen of the two sides, noted the visiting official calling for further development of business cooperation with Iran, especially in the development and construction of hotels.

Chairman of Cypruss OEB went on to add that we are fully committed to expansion of multilateral ties and cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

I will meet with the Cyprian president after returning back home in order to take effective steps for strengthening economic relations between both states, he continued.

Irans Deputy Labor Minister Hosseini, for his part, said cooperation between businessmen, traders and investors of Iran and Cyprus reflected determination of both sides to develop relations between the two countries on issues of common interest.

Hosseini welcomed the proposals made by the Cyprian side expressing willingness of his ministry and its subsidiaries to expand cooperation and conduct joint venture in various projects.

Very good opportunities are available for businessmen and foreign investors seeking to participate in economic projects of the Iranian Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare, he concluded.
