TEHRAN, Jul. 20 (MNA) Irans FM spokesman called on Arab League chief Ahmed Abul-Gheit to heed the sensitive situation of the region and make efforts for further unity among Muslim countries against common threats like terrorism and Zionist atrocities.
Irans Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi made the remarks in response to Abul-Gheits recent comments during a TV interview with an Egyptian satellite channel on Sunday in which he warned that instability in Turkey would encourage Iran to interfere in the affairs of the region's countries.
Ghasemi strongly rejected the notion of Irans interference in the affairs of regional countries, adding once again, we stress that the resolution of current crises in some regional countries can only be achieved through political approaches and with the help of further dialogues and interaction among the involved groups. No country has the right to interfere in the internal affairs of regional states.
Ghasemi went on to warn, those with anti-Muslim sentiments seek to create and escalate tension and discord among the Islamic Ummah in a bid to back the continuation of sectarian and religious violence, particularly among Shias and Sunnis.
They seek to distract Muslims by intensifying conflicts among them so that Zionistoccupiers and Takfiri terrorist groups would get a way out, he added.
The Iranian diplomat further called on the Secretary General of the Arab League to consider the realities on the ground in the region, and focus his attention on unifying the Islamic world.
