TEHRAN, July 19 (Shana) -- Iranian engineers have successfully carried out measures to reverse-engineer the SGT-100 industrial gas turbine that is originally supplied by Siemens.
The SGT-100 gas turbine is an industrial gas turbine in the power output range from 5 to 6 megawatts (MW) which combines compact and rugged construction with advanced technology.
The reverse-engineering project was completed by a team of mechanical and metallurgy engineers affiliated to the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum in the southwestern oil-rich province of Khuzestan.
Oil Turbo Compressor Company (OTC) as the operator of the national turbines project of Iran developed the project with the goal of obtaining self-sufficiency in manufacturing of turbines domestically.
