TEHRAN, Jul. 18 (MNA) � Iranian economy minister has left Tehran for Nairobi Monday morning to attend the 14th session of the UNCTAD underway in the East African country.Ali Tayebnia, who is heading a specialized delegation, travelled to Kenya to participate in the fourteenth session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD 14) being held from July 17-22.

The event enjoys particular importance for being the first summit following the implementation of the deal between Iran and the 5+1 groups of countries, dubbed Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Iran�s Tayebnia is slated to deliver a�keynote presentation at the conference as well as to hold separate meetings with UNCTAD officials as well as with his counterparts from several countries.

Established in 1964 as a permanent intergovernmental body, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) aims to maximize the trade, investment and development opportunities of developing countries and assist them in their efforts to integrate into the world economy on an equitable basis.�

The Kenya�event will bring together heads of state and government, ministers and other prominent players from the business world, civil society and academia to tackle global trade and economic development issues.

The quadrennial Conference will also be a unique opportunity to consider the most appropriate means of delivering on the post-2015 development agenda.
