Iran investigating purchase of power plants systems from Bulgaria

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali-Akbar Salehi said that the country is investigating purchase of power plants equipment from Bulgaria.




He rejected reports on buying used reactors from Bulgaria, and said that Bulgaria was supposed to establish two nuclear power plants in, but it was later canceled due to financial restrictions.


Therefore, Bulgarian officials are ready to sell parts of their new equipment to Iran with a reasonable price, and we are going to investigate the issue.


He said that a nuclear hospital is going to be built in Iran jointly with European countries, adding, All finance phases have been accomplished and I hope that the project would be implemented soon. The hospital would be unique in West Asia.


He noted that Iran is in talks with Russia on selling 40 tons of heavy water, adding a number of European countries have called for buying the product.
