TEHRAN, Jul. 17 (MNA) � The AEOI spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi said Sun. the heavy water sold to the United States will arrive in the western country in about a month.


Behrouz Kamalvandi, the AEOI spokesman, said in an IRIB program�that a few dys ago�32 tons of heavy water was delivered to the American side under the agreement between the US Department of Energy (DOE) and the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), adding �due to our concerns about the Americans� penchant for being untrustworthy in regard to their commitments, we were first paid before delivering the shipment.�

The sold heavy water is currently on its way and will arrive on the American soil in about a month, he added.

Kamalvandi noted the application of heavy water in power plants and for research purposes, adding �we have negotiated with three or four countries for the sale of heavy water, so in case the Americans are not able to buy from us since the US Congress has banned heavy water purchase from Iran, we are left with other alternative markets.�
