Sarmadi: Abundant capacities available for Tehran-Sydney cooperation

Tehran, July 11, IRNA Deputy Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi said on Monday that there are abundant capacities available for Iran-Australia cooperation after the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

Sarmadi made the remarks in a meeting with outgoing Australian ambassador to Tehran Paul Foley.

Sarmadi thanked Foley for his efforts during his successful mission in Tehran which led to promotion of ties.

'After JCPOA, our expectations have not yet been met and it needs more efforts,' Sarmadi said.

Foley said during his presence in Iran, he witnessed settlement of a long-term problem through diplomatic means and more issues will be resolved in line with the context of the JCPOA.
He said the JCPOA showed that it was the right way.

'Major banks will gradually do business with Iran and now small banks have no problem in cooperation with Iran. Australian companies are trying to cooperate with Iranian economic partners. So, Australian commercial office has opened in the Embassy.'
