Iranian teenage footballers have put in a remarkable performance at the AFC U-14 Girls Regional Championship 2013 for the South and Central region, and overwhelmed Tajikistan in their final game of the tournament.
On Sunday, the Iranian outfit whipped Tajikistan 7-1 in a match played at the Ceylonese Rugby and Football Club in the Sri Lankan capital, Colombo.
Fatemeh Qasemi, Fatemeh Mazidi and Sana Saaqi scored two goals each while Maral Mohammandi scored a goal as the Iranians defeated the Tajiks.
India whipped close rivals Iran 6-1 on Saturday. India defeated Bhutan 9-0 in their final game in Colombo on Sunday and became the champions of the AFC U-14 Girls Regional Championship 2013 for the South and Central region.
On March 7, Iran crushed Bhutan 5-1 in a game played at the Ceylonese Rugby and Football Club. Iranian players had routed the hosts 3-0 the previous day.
A goal galore featured the opening match for the Iranian football team on March 5, when Iranians thrashed Bangladesh 5-0.
The AFC U-14 Girls Regional Championship 2013 for the South and Central region started in Colombo on March 5 and wrapped up on March 10.
Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Iran and Tajikistan were the participating countries in the sports event.
