Tehran, July 6, IRNA Eid al-Fitr prayers began in the Iranian capital led by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Wednesday.
The first day of the month of Shawal marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan and is celebrated as Eid al-Fitr across the Muslim World.
Senior Iranian officials along with hundreds of thousands of worshippers have reportedly gathered in Imam Khomeini Mosalla to attend the prayers.
According to statistics from the previous years, over 1.2 million worshippers take part in Eid al-Fitr prayers in Tehran each year.
Eid al-Fitr prayers are a symbol of glory and greatness of the Islamic Ummah and the Iranian nation.
