Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei will lead Eid al-Fitr prayers in Tehran, according to Baqer Pishnamazi, the head of the headquarters of holding Tehran Friday prayers and Eid al-Fitr prayers.
The first day of the month of Shavval marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan and is celebrated as Eid al-Fitr across the Muslim World.
Pishnamazi said that if Wednesday will be confirmed as the first day of the month of Shavval, Eid al-Fitr prayers in the Iranian capital will be led by the Supreme Leader at Imam Khomeini Mosalla.
According to statistics from the previous years, over 1.2 million worshippers take part in Eid al-Fitr prayers in Tehran each year.
Eid al-Fitr prayers are a symbol of glory and greatness of the Islamic Ummah and the Iranian nation.
