TEHRAN, July 04 (Shana) -- National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) has localized construction of crane booms for offshore drilling operations, an NIDC official said.
Mehdi Arshian, the NIDC director of manufacturing research, technology and engineering, said the company has for the first time in the country designed and developed the booms to be installed on Martyr Modarres Drillers.
He said experts manufacturers in the southwestern province of Khouzestan have developed the object, considered as a key drilling industry part.
Arshian said the booms need advanced technologies for their development.
NIDC, over the course of the past decade, has localized manufacturing of over 20,000 drilling parts and items.
