Irans Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) forces have destroyed an 11-member gang of terrorists tied to an anti-Iran Kurdish terror outfit.
Fars News Agency reported the development on Tuesday, citing Brigadier General Mohammad Hossein Rajabi, the IRGC commander in the northwestern Iranian Kurdistan Province.
Rajabi described the members of the group as counter-revolutionaries. Such elements have been unsuccessfully working against Irans Islamic Revolution since its 1979 victory.
As soon as entering the country, he said, the group went under monitoring by the IRGCs Kurdistan arm.
The [IRGC] forces blocked the entry points and, subjugating the team to their will, led them toward the spot we desired, the official said. After ten days of following them, we led them to the Kouhsalan area of [the provinces] city of Sarvabad, where our forces annihilated all the 11 members.
The operation also led to the martyrdom of three IRGC members.
Also on Tuesday, Iranian Parliament (Majlis) Speaker Ali Larijani warned about ongoing efforts aimed at casting doubt at Irans might.

The Saudis have had contacts with some disgraced regional [terrorist] cells in Irans east [to order them to] make some kind of noise, Larijani said at a ceremony marking the beginning of the Judiciary Week in Iran.
He said similar contacts have been made by counter-revolutionary parties with terrorist groups in the countrys west for the same purposes.
He called for vigilance in the face of such subversive attempts.
It was reported on Saturday that IRGC forces had clashed with Kurdish militants who had infiltrated a northwestern village to stage terrorist and propagandist operations.
The militants had, earlier in the month, clashed with the IRGC in the West Azerbaijan Provinces Oshnavieh County, which is similarly located in the countrys northwest.
The IRGC is, meanwhile, watchful of terrorist movements throughout the country.
On Thursday, Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour, the commander of the IRGCs Ground Forces, said the forces had captured two members of a terrorist group in the southwest, saying the detainees had admitted to US and Saudi support. The group had been dismantled in the city of Khash in Irans Sistan-and-Baluchestan Province a week earlier.
Additionally, after thwarting a Takfiri-Wahhabi plot to stage attacks in Irans major cities including Tehran, the country's Intelligence Ministry released a video on Wednesday showing the security forces raiding the hideout of the terrorists in the capital.
A day earlier, Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi had briefed reporters on the recent swoop, saying that as many as 10 terrorists had been apprehended from June 14 to 20 in Tehran and three border and central provinces.
It was also reported recently that Iranian security forces killed five members of a terrorist group in the Khash region.
