TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian researchers have designed a device for generating electricity and biogas fueled by sun for both home and industry scales.

Mehrdad Asheghi, the lead author of the study, said the plan is bio-gas, compost and electricity generating device using trash as fuel.

The device is capable of generating electricity and biogas from any bio-gradable trash expect metal, iron, plastic and glass.

He said that the system is not consuming power but solar energy and works automatically.

As the power button is pushed, the device starts the required process to turn trash into power and compost for 20 days, he said.

The author of the study said that the device is fed by 3 units of trash and 7 units of water.
