White House: Iran, US have no common plan to fight Daesh

New York, June 1, IRNA - White House Spokesman Josh Earnest said no plan exists for any military cooperation between Iran and US to fight against the terrorist group of Daesh (ISIS).

However, he reiterated that Iran and US fighting against Daesh is based on a joint awareness regarding dangers caused by sectarian divisions in Iraq.

Earnest made the remarks during a White House press conference on Tuesday.

The US and other members of anti-Daesh coalition believe that any action to spread sectarian tension in Iraq will be in Daesh's favor, added the US spokesman.

He added US is ready to help forces under the command of Iraqi government to fight against Daesh.

Earnest said that the US expected Iraqi forces to act based on international humanitarian commitments and try to save the lives of people of Fallujah.
