Russia, Iran to launch full-scale operations of Bushehr NPP units 2-3

Russia and Iran are about to launch full-scale of operations on the construction of the second and third units of the Beshehr Nuclear Power Plant, Rosatoms press service announced Friday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) Russia and Iran inthe next few weeks plan tosolve the tasks needed forthe full-scale ofoperations onthe construction ofthe second and third units ofthe Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, Rosatoms press service announced Friday.
Issues ofbilateral cooperation were the focus ofconsultations inregard tothe Bushehr NPP construction. In particular, the fact ofgiving the Iranian management organs a license onthe exploitation ofenergy unit number 1. The participants discussed indetail the tasks that need tobe solved inthe next few weeks tobring units 2 and 3 intofull-scale operation, the press service said ina statement.


Bushehr-1 was launched inSeptember 2011 and reached its maximum power generation capacity inAugust 2012.

In September 2013, Iran officially took overfrom Russia the first unit ofits first 1,000-megawatt nuclear power plants fortwo years and inNovember 2014 the two countries signed an agreement whereby Russia was commissioned tobuild another four units total.
