Iran VP meets with South Korean president

Beijing, May 18, IRNA Iranian Vice-President and Head of Department of Environment Ma'soumeh Ebtekar met with South Korean President Park Geun-hye in Seoul on Wednesday.


Ebtekar is in Seoul to attend the 7th International Conference of Asian Leadership-2016.

In the meeting, President Park Geun-hye underlined implementation of agreements signed by the two countries during her recent visit to Tehran and expressed hope that the agreements would become operational soon.

The two sides also called for cooperation in the field of environment and said that it is necessary that the private sector of both countries become active in this field as well.

Ebtekar expressed her organization's readiness to expand relations with South Korea in the field of environment and said that the DoE is ready to execute joint projects with South Korean side.

The 7th International Conference of Asian Leadership-2016 opened in Seoul on Tuesday with speech by President Park Geun-hye. Ebtekar also delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.

The Iranian delegation is to leave Seoul on Wednesday evening.
