Border guards commander: Iran, Iraq to hold joint drills soon

Abadan, April 27, IRNA Commander of Iran's Border Guards announced that Iran and Iraq will soon hold joint maneuvers in Arvand River and in the near future.


'We will hold joint maneuvers in the first half of the current Iranian year in the Northern part of the Persian Gulf and Arvand River with Iraqi border guards in a bid to boost the regional security,' Brigadier General Qassem Rezayee said on Wednesday and on the sidelines of paying a visit to Arvandan Shipbuilding Company.

Brigadier General Rezayee underlined that the security of the land borders of the country are at a satisfactory level.

'Along the western borders, including from Khuzestan's Husseynia to Ilam and even near Qasr Shirin the oil-rich regions are ready for investments and we have no security concerns there,' he added.
