Sattari: Research in need of private sector investment

Tehran, April 26, IRNA Vice President for Scientific and Technology Surena Sattari said for progress in the field of science and technology and return to the past glory investment of the private and public sectors is needed.

Speaking at the first MUSTAFA PRIZE ceremony, Sattari stressed that the youth are an opportunity for the economy, adding that what should enter the countrys economy is reliance on the specialized human resources.

Creation of business demands wisdom and money and wealth cannot be considered for the economic pillars of the country, he added.

Fortunately, he further remarked, this movement has been launched in the country the sample of which is the knowledge-based companies. 'We are capable of more progress in this field as Iran is the world's fourth producer of engineers.

Pointing to the role played by the benefactors in MUSTAFA PRIZE, Sattari said presence of donors in this area has created a new culture which leads to investment in the field of research.

Sattari stressed that good achievements should be made for the second round of MUSTAFA PRIZE and more investors should be attracted as culture-building in the area of investment can portray Iran as an active member in the field of science and technology as before.
