Tehran, April 25, IRNA � Member of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Abbassali Mansouri Arani on Monday dimissed 'highly contradictory' reports, and said that Iran had sold heavy water to the US at market price.



Mansouri Arani said according to concerned officials, the price the product was sold for had been conventional and conformed with the global prices.

As far as enrichment is concerned, countries resort to either uranium enrichment or heavy water, but fortunately the Islamic Republic of Iran applied both methods for nuclear enrichment with full strength by relying on its experts and scientisits.

He said that Iran has gained remarkable success and one of the advantages of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is stabilizing application of both methods for Iran.

Mansouri Arani said Iran's surplus heavy water had been transferred to Oman in accordinace with the JCPOA.

Based on Iran nuclear agreement, Iran cannot accumulate its heavy water for 15 years, so the surplus of the product should be sent to the global market.
