Persian Express: All aboard the new Iran-bound luxury train

A new Moscow-Tehran route organized by the private travel agency Golden Eagle Luxury Trains Limited will be available on November 10.

The private travel company Golden Eagle Luxury Trains Limited is due toopen its new route fromMoscow toTehran onNovember 10, according toinformation published on the company's website.

Foreign tourists will be able tostart their journey fromMoscow, where they will arrive byplane inorder totake part inthe 18-day Persia and Silk Road tour.

Two days later, the company's train will leave Moscow for Kazakhstan's Baikonur and Uzbekistan's cities of Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara as well as Ashgabat and Merv in Turkmenistan located in Central Asia.

After that, tourists will go to the Iranian shrine city of Mashhad, from where they will be delivered to the cities of Mahan, Ryan, Yazd, Isfahan and Shiraz. This three-day trip will end with a stop in the Iranian capital Tehran.

At least five such trips are expected within the Persia and Silk Road program between 2016 and 2017, which will additionally see tourists coming to Moscow from Tehran.

Going bytrain fromRussia toIran is believed tobe one ofthe most unusual and exciting ways totravel acrossCentral Asia and the Middle East, something that understandably costs a bundle.

The price tag ofthe cheapest ticket forthe Moscow-Tehran train, including the cost offood and excursions, stands atalmost $21,000.
