Iran, Afghanistan, India trilateral agreement on Chabahar finalized

Kabul, April 13, IRNA - Afghanistan Foreign Minister announced that the Chabahar port was finalized in the second technical conference held in New Delhi.

Afghanistan Foreign Minister in a press statement announced that the text of the trilateral agreement on creating an international transportation and transit passage was finalized and ready to sign in Indian Foreign Ministry.

The conference was held with the presence of representatives of Afghan foreign ministry, trade and industry, transportation and aviation, railway office and embassy.

Chabahar is a free port (Free Trade Zone) on the coast of the Gulf of Oman. It is situated on the Makran Coast of the Sistan-Baluchestan province and is officially designated as a Free Trade and Industrial Zone by Iranian government. Due to its free trade zone status, the city has increased in significance in international trade.
