TEHRAN (Tasnim) Iran has held negotiations with German companies on the joint production of dairy products, an official announced.
Speaking to Tasnim on Monday, Irans Deputy Agriculture Minister Hassan Rokni said a number of agreements have been signed with Germans at a Sunday meeting on veterinary medicine.
He also expressed the hope for joint investment with Germany for the countrys stronger presence in export markets.
Based on the negotiations with German companies, Iran can start the joint production of dairy products, chicken and eggs, and export them under European brand names, he noted.
Hailing the perfect opportunities for Iran to export dairy produce, Rokni said Irans neighboring countries are importers of such produce.
Iran exported 600,000 tons of dairy products in the previous Iranian year (ended on March 19), he explained.
Last month, Iranian Agriculture Minister Mahmoud Hojjati and his German counterpart Christian Schmidt signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Berlin to enhance cooperation between the two countries in various spheres of agriculture, including research, education and agribusiness.
